School Lunch and Breakfast Program
Camden Elementary’s cafeteria provides nourishing and well-balanced meals for students, visitors and staff. While students are encouraged to eat the school lunch provided, they may also bring lunches from home. Glass containers, candy, and sodas are discouraged. Breakfast will continue to be free this year and Lunch will cost $2.00 for elementary students.
Breakfast is served in the classroom from 7:00 to 7:30 each morning. If we have late buses, we will keep the cafeteria open until all children have been served. Children pick up their breakfast as they arrive at school and will eat their breakfast in the classroom or in the hallway. We ask that children do not bring fast-food breakfasts to school.
Lunch Applications/ Lunch Accounts
The district’s food service department determines meal prices based on budgetary demands and these prices are approved by the Kershaw County School Board. Free and reduced meal benefits are available as outlined by the National School Lunch Program. Applications are available at school registration, through the office, cafeteria or online at any time during the school year. Parents are encouraged to complete the online application by going to the www.kcsdschools.net and clicking on the Free, Reduced Meal Benefits information link. Please note that these applications must be completed every year.
Parents may deposit money into their child’s lunch account by accessing www.myschoolbucks.com or through our school webpage. Parents are also able to check the balance in their child’s account at any time. Students may also pay for their meals in cash daily or parents can send in cash or checks to be deposited into their child’s account. Please include a note with any money that is sent to school.
